The First Morning of Summer by Ray Bradbury
TEXT / TASKS
Here will be my review on the text. if... oh, who cares.
Vocabulary work
Meaning work with vocabulary items I didn't knew how to translate and use.
Speaking Tasks
Task 3.1.
Debate the following resolution:
It is good when a child is much more intelligent than other children of his/her age.
When the debate is over, formulate possible contradictions underlying the situation described.
Intelligent
has the ability to think, understand and learn things quickly and well
More intelligent child is capable to understand more complex stuff, but things, where the experience is needed, he can's trully understand. (ideal world problem)
Is beloved by teachers and other big-ppl, who only adore him, when other children tease him (asocial, lack of friends)
If the family is falling apart, smart kid (little) can have deeper emocional trauma, can become the outsider
Childs brain is always under "a high voltage", because of big expectations, which can lead to huge dissapointment
Can become a prodigy, but his childhood fame can lead to unremarkable or ruined adult years
