Information vs. Ideas by E. de BonoTEXT / TASKS / HOW-PART v1Task 3.2. What is your aim when writing this text? How soon can this text become outdated? Who do you think is the audience of this text? Why have you separated and boldfaced some information? What are functions of this? Explain why you formulated these statements this way? Explain what ideas does each word bring into these sentences? Why have you chosen examples about insurance and queues in a shop? Answer the questions. In my text I wanted to point out that our educational system is getting old, because was made in the Renaissance. It is based on looking backwards. But this approach doesn't actually work today. We have to teach how to deal with information, rather then collect it in our heads. Since centuries analysis, judgment and knowledge was basis for thinking, today, I think, we should add design and perceptual thinking to the list This text first of all is for thinking people, who should realize that in future and even now our way of learning will not survive. Because at the top of it will be a self-organized system that can't make decisions. *** I've chosen to illustrate my point of view with the examples, which include numbers of people. People themselfs can make decisions spontainiously or logically depending on some subjective reasons. When we turn person into a number we take away his perception. Numbers can't make decisions. They can't tell us about the reasons they have. They can't show you some future reasons. Peer's comment: You are saying that text is for people, who realize that our way of learning will not survive, but with your text you wanted to point out our education is getting old. Why do you think they need it, if they already know it? What you mean by design of basis, future visions? |
